Here are the instructions that you will need to help you use the calculators.

You will need your last utility bill to enter some details in the blue fields

You will need a pen and paper to write down your current meter readings and your plan breakdown..
3.
Contact your supplier to get first primary units for gas and electric and any discount percentage you get for direct debit and dual fuel etc.
Fields marked in blue are your tariff information such as how many first units are charged at the higher rate and also the price per unit of energy.
Fields marked in red are your billing information that is required to calculate your charges such as the date from your last bill, your meter readings and any discount that you get from your supplier etc.
1.
First Units Per Year
With a utility bill there are 2 price structures for gas and electric you have first units and second units you need to find out what they are from your supplier as these are not shown on your bill. You can either call your supplier  and ask what the normal units are for both gas and electric or go to your suppliers website to get this information. Write these numbers down for future reference.

Example: E.O.N Save Online Plan
Electricity Normal units first 900kWh per year charged at the higher rate.
Gas Normal units first 2680kWh per year charged at the higher rate.

These figures are are required to calculate the day rate.
2.
Primary Unit Price and Secondary Unit Price
You can find this on your previous bill in the break down of your service similar to this.

Electricity:
Normal first units used 148kWh at 20.7p each this is the price of your primary units.
Normal next units used 784kWh at
9.7p each this is the price of your secondary units
Gas:
Gas first units used 441kWh at
6.859p each this is the price of your primary units.
Gas next units used 1,423kWh at
2.969p each this is the price of your secondary units.
Please make a note these prices are in pence so you would enter a 0. In front of the price this 0.207

Enter these prices in the
blue area on the form.

Bill Date From and Bill Date To
You need to enter the from an to dates here first look at your previous bill an enter the date of your bill you can find this at the top you do this by clicking on the small picture to the right of the box and click on the correct day, month and year or enter the date in the box like this 02-11-2011 dont forget the minus sign between the numbers.
For the bill date to this is the day that you have taken the latest meter readings so if you get your meter reading today then you would enter today's date here.
4.
Previous Reading and Current Reading
You can find your previous reading on your last bill it is the reading that your supplier used to calculate your last bill it will say something like this

Gas: read by us date 0 0 1 6 7
Electricity: read by us date  0 0 9 3 3
For your current reading you will need to go to your meters and write down the numbers for your gas and electric
then enter them in the current reading boxes.
5.
Discount %
If your supplier gives you a discount for say having both gas and electric and paying by direct debit you need to enter this here.
You will need to contact your supplier if you do not know this.
6.
Payments Made
Enter any payments made such as total of direct debit payments up to date.
7.
Credit Previous Bill
Enter any credit from your previous bill here.
First we are going to enter the blue fields for your plan.
Payments Made and Credit Previous Bill are not compulsory only if you want a more accurate total to include payments and previous credit.
